Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Financial Systems Manager for Sterling Heights, MI. This direct-hire, hybrid role leads end-to-end financial systems including ERP, accounting platforms, and reporting tools, driving roadmaps in partnership with Finance.

You will manage system ownership, analytics, compliance, and vendor coordination, while mentoring junior team members and delivering process improvements across GL, AP/AR, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, business, finance or accounting.
• 4–7+ years in financial systems, business applications, or product management.
• Strong knowledge of GL, AP/AR, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Experience with ERP/financial platforms such as Sage, Workday, NetSuite, Oracle or Dynamics.
• Experience with data and reporting tools like Power BI and SQL.
• Experience supporting audits and compliance processes.
• Proven track record owning systems from intake to delivery and support.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Proficiency with Jira for backlog and delivery management.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of financial systems including ERP and reporting tools.
• Define and execute product roadmaps aligned with Finance and business goals.
• Balance operations, system enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
• Set KPIs and monitor system performance, financial accuracy, and user adoption.
• Analyze financial processes (GL, AP/AR, billing, reconciliations) for optimization.
• Ensure data integrity, auditability, and compliance across systems.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Operations to capture requirements.
• Translate requirements into user stories and system configurations.
• Provide hands-on administration and support for SaaS financial systems.
• Support financial reporting, data validation, and reconciliation processes.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with IT and vendors.
• Manage upgrades, releases, and enhancements; maintain docs and mappings.
• Manage user access, roles, and security governance.
• Lead backlog, sprint planning, and cross-functional coordination using Jira.
• Oversee UAT, data validation, and post-release support.
• Act as liaison between Finance, IT, Ops, and vendors; communicate changes clearly.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and mentoring to team members.
• Drive training, adoption, and continuous improvement.
