Job summary

The City of Kansas City Water Department seeks a senior supervisor to lead Remittance & Cash Operations within the Accounts Division. You will manage professional staff, coordinate banking and payment processing, and ensure integrity of tax processing and vendor relations.

Qualified candidates hold an accredited Master’s degree (or Bachelor's with more experience) and have experience in municipal finance, accounting planning, or GIS analytics.

Qualifications

• Requires an accredited Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience in corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting planning, project/program management, or GIS analytics.
• Alternatively, an accredited Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Manages and directs staff of Accountants, Clerks, and Supervisors.
• Oversees Remittance Cash Operations & Processes and tax preparation for KC Water Sales Tax.
• Maintains relationships with IT staff and software developers; coordinates external consultants.

Education

Master's degree in public/ business administration, urban/regional planning, economics, organizational development psychology, project management or geography
