Job summary

Alliance Water Resources is seeking an Accounting Manager in the Columbia, MO area to lead the accounting department and ensure accurate financial reporting for the company and its clients.

You will oversee AP/AR, monthly journal entries, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, payroll processing and related tax filings, W‑2s, and assist with audits; supervision of staff and collaboration with location managers is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting.
• Five years’ experience working as an accountant.
• Minimum of five years managing a team and working with location managers.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including AP/AR and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for parent/subsidiary companies and client reports.
• Prepare and process monthly journal entries and depreciation/asset schedules.
• Produce special management reports using spreadsheet software.
• Prepare IRS Form 1099s for applicable clients and maintain fixed asset records.
• Assist in scheduling annual audits and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Oversee payroll processing and payroll tax filings, including W‑2s.
• Support 401(k)/profit sharing contributions and plan administration.
