Job summary

BDO USA seeks a BI Manager to lead a Finance BI team focused on reporting, analytics, and automation for Finance and the broader business. The role defines standards, architecture, governance, and ensures quality, security, and reliability of the BI portfolio.

The position partners with Finance leaders to translate priorities into a coordinated roadmap, overseeing Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and Power Automate deliverables. Strong leadership and data governance are essential.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in data analytics, BI, or related analytics fields.
• Two or more years of experience leading or managing a technical team.
• Experience working with Finance data is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Leads, manages, and develops a team of Finance BI Developers and Analysts.
• Primary escalation point for complex Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and Power Automate issues.
• Owns and evolves Finance BI architecture, semantic model standards, and data governance.
• Translate strategic priorities into a prioritized team roadmap and resourcing plan.
• Review and approve BI reports and models before deployment for quality.
• Ensure end-user training and maintain up-to-date documentation.
• Oversee workspace management, permissions, and access controls including RLS.
• Foster relationships with data engineering and IT to secure data and infrastructure.
• Promote AI-enabled development practices with regard to privacy and compliance.
• Establish and monitor standards for version control, testing, and peer review.
• Communicate status and risks to Finance BI leadership and senior stakeholders.
• Safeguard sensitive data and support trusted business decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure deliverables meet needs.
• Apply branding, design, and BI development standards for a professional look.
