Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Senior BI Manager to lead a Finance BI team focused on delivering reporting, analytics, and automation solutions that drive strategic decisions. You will set development standards, govern semantic models, and ensure data security and reliability across the portfolio.

The role partners with Finance leadership to translate priorities into a roadmap, oversees Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and Power Automate deliverables, and mentors team members while reporting on performance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, required.
• 5+ years in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or Application Development, required.
• 2+ years leading or managing a technical team, required.
• Experience working with Finance data, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Finance BI Developers and Analysts.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and Power Automate issues.
• Own and evolve Finance BI architecture, semantic model design standards, data governance practices, and development guidelines across the team.
• Translate strategic priorities into a prioritized team roadmap and resourcing plan.
• Review and approve Power BI reports, semantic models, DAX measures, data transformations, and documentation before deployment.
• Ensure reports have up-to-date training available for end-users.
• Oversee workspace management, permissions, deployment processes, and access controls including Row Level Security.
• Build and maintain relationships with data engineering and IT partners to secure data and infrastructure.
• Promote AI-enabled development practices while balancing privacy, security, and compliance.
• Establish and monitor team standards for version control, testing, documentation, and peer reviews.
• Communicate status of major initiatives and risks to Finance BI leadership.
