Job summary

The Finance Hub within the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Finance Associate to execute and support a broad range of financial transactions. This full-time role involves assisting with travel, purchasing, accounts payable, and financial reporting while delivering responsive service to faculty, staff, and students.

The position is onsite on UNL's East Campus with a potential hybrid schedule after an initial six-month onsite

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years related finance or accounting work experience.
• Experience or training in Microsoft applications.
• Willingness and ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines.
• Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assisting faculty, staff, and students with travel processes, including authorizations, booking, expense reimbursements, and related requests.
• Supporting purchasing and procurement, including P-Card and eShop purchases, documentation review, compliance checks, and payment processing.
• Preparing accounts payable (A/P) transactions, including direct payments, reimbursements, documentation, and approval routing.
• Maintaining financial records and assisting with financial reporting.
• Providing responsive customer service and guidance to faculty, staff, and students.
