Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a Business Center Manager II for the Big Red Business Center to lead finance, budgeting, grants, and HR services. You will supervise staff, advise leadership on operations, and ensure strong relationships with participating colleges and units to deliver compliant, high-quality services.

After an initial onsite training, a hybrid schedule with up to two remote days per week may be possible, subject to supervisor approval and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of finance and/or HR experience.
• Two years of experience supervising staff or serving in a team-lead role.
• Experience with SAP or similar large integrated finance or HR system.
• Ability to analyze data and inquiries, think critically, and communicate sound decisions.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office/Excel for data analysis.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information per laws and policies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the business center, including budgeting, financial reporting, grants administration, human resources, and payroll.
• Building and maintaining relationships with participating colleges and units and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Providing consultative guidance to department leaders on business operations including finance, budget, grants, HR, and payroll.
• Supervising, training, and developing staff and coordinating workload.
• Ensuring compliance with university/state/federal requirements and internal controls.
• Collaborating with department leadership to support strategic planning and resolve operational challenges.
• Partnering with departments to develop and improve service center operations and contractual agreements.
