Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Finance Specialist to act as a trusted financial advisor across departments, guiding funding strategies, compliance, and policy interpretation. Located on UNL's East Campus in Lincoln, NE, the role offers a hybrid schedule with up to two remote days per week, subject to supervisor approval.

The successful candidate will manage portfolios, support post-award grant management, and navigate complex financial transactions while upholding confidentiality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of related financial management experience.
• Experience in grant administration and sponsorship programs is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information per policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio and advise on financial management and funding strategies.
• Support sponsored research through post-award grant financial management.
• Provide consultative guidance on financial policies, sponsored programs, and processes.
• Coordinate complex financial activities including travel, contracts, journals, AR, and capital assets.
