Job summary

GEODIS in Edison, New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager Final Mile to oversee distribution and warehousing in a cross-dock operation, coordinate with customers, and lead resource planning.

You will oversee costs, drive profitable operation, and supervise warehouse staff including Team Leaders and Operations Supervisors, with a focus on food accounts safety reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training.
• PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross dock operation.
• Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services.
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
• Reviews costs and makes changes/recommendations to maintain and enhance profitable operation.
• Participates in marketing and sales efforts, ensuring facilities have resources to meet company goals and P&L responsibilities.
• Supervises warehouse staff including Team Leaders and Operations Supervisors.
• For food accounts, report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
