Job summary

ACV Auctions in Houston seeks an enthusiastic Inspector who loves cars and wants to join a growing company. Inspectors are the face of ACV, explaining vehicle conditions to clients with energy and care, while upholding Trust, Transparency, Credibility, and Customer Service.

In this role you will inspect vehicles at dealerships, prepare condition reports, and assist the sales team with cross-selling services. Travel to dealerships and homes is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while still in a team environment.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
• Knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software/web-based applications.
• Ability to perform manual labor (standing, lifting 25 lbs+, bending, squatting).
• Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions.
• Vision to identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Partner with a Territory Manager andInspectors to conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage, missing parts and mechanical problems.
• Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Help sales team upsell or cross-sell services and products.
• Interface regularly with dealers to develop client satisfaction and build strong relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports, list vehicles to sell on the auction platform.
• Capture multiple photos and match them to a vehicle, then upload to the image server using company-issued smartphone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
