Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join our growing team in the United States. You will inspect vehicles at dealerships and auctions, document condition, and estimate repair costs to keep clients informed and satisfied.

As the face of ACV Auctions, you will travel to various locations, take detailed photos, and upload findings to our platform. A customer-service mindset and automotive knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Strong problem solving and resourcefulness.
• Capable of working independently within a team.
• Excellent communicator to understand customer needs.
• Valid driver’s license with a registered and insured vehicle.
• Familiarity with basic software and web-based tools.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 25 lbs, bend and squat, and inspect vehicles.
• Comfort driving manual and automatic transmission; identify defects.

Responsibilities

• Actively support efforts to simplify and enhance customer experience.
• Inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease for damage and mechanical issues.
• Prepare and submit condition reports, repair estimates, and related docs.
• Assist sales with upsell/cross-sell and build dealer relationships.
• Travel to dealerships/homes to inspect and write reports; list vehicles for auction.
• Capture photos and upload to the image server using company mobile device.
• List inspected wholesales on ACV Auctions platform for bidding.
• Recruit independent dealerships as buyers to use the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
