Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join our team. Inspectors visit dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sites to detect damage and mechanical issues, then document findings with condition reports and cost estimates.

You will travel to various locations, take detailed photos, and upload them to the image server using our mobile app, while supporting the customer experience and building dealer relationships.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while in a team.
• Excellent communicator with ability to understand customer needs.
• Valid driver’s license and a registered insured vehicle required.
• Knowledge of system capabilities and needed software/web apps.
• Physically capable of standing, lifting 25 lbs+, bending and squatting.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Vision to identify small vehicle defects.

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Partner with Territory Manager and Inspectors to inspect vehicles for damage and mechanical issues.
• Prepare and submit reports of vehicle condition and repair cost estimates.
• Assist sales in up-sell or cross-sell of services and products.
• Interface with dealers to ensure client satisfaction and build relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect, and write condition reports.
• Take photos of vehicles and upload them to the image server with the company app.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the platform for bidding and purchase.
