Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join our face of the company team. You will inspect vehicles at dealerships and auction sites, document condition, and assist the sales team with accurate reporting and effective collaboration.

Our inspectors are detail-oriented, talkative about cars, and committed to delivering trust and exceptional customer service. This role requires outdoor work, travel to dealerships, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness.
• Proven success to work independently with minimal supervision while working in a team environment.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and use of a validly registered and insured motor vehicle required.
• Knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software/web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage and issues.
• Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Assist sales team with up-sell or cross-sell opportunities.
• Interface regularly with dealers to develop client relationships and satisfaction.
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports.
• Capture multiple photos and upload them to the company image server.
• List inspected vehicles for bidding and purchasing on ACV Auctions platform.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to use ACV Auctions platform.
