Job summary

ACRT, Inc. is hiring a Consulting Utility Forester to identify and evaluate vegetation along utility lines and to plan and coordinate line-clearance crews.

The role involves outdoor work, data collection, and reporting to clients with actionable recommendations. Candidates should hold a forestry-related degree or equivalent experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in varied terrain and weather.

Qualifications

• Degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or related field, or 2 years of UVM-related experience with a high school diploma/GED.
• Experience in vegetation management preferred.
• ISA Arborist/TRAQ/ISA Utility Specialist preferred.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and GIS data collection tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines.
• Submit inspection results with recommendations to clients.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned line-clearance crews.
• Discuss and negotiate crew access issues with stakeholders.
• Liaise between clients, tree crews and client customers.
