Job summary

DRMP, Inc. is seeking Transportation Technicians and CEI Inspectors for roadway and bridge construction projects in Wilmington, NC. You will support engineers and inspection teams in field inspection, sampling, testing, documentation, and surveying as needed.

Positions vary by level, with opportunities to lead inspection teams and mentor others. Candidates must have relevant education/experience and obtain required certifications before duties commence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 4+ years construction inspection experience (1+ year in roadway or bridge construction) OR
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field plus 2+ years construction inspection experience (1+ year in roadway construction)
• Candidates will be evaluated against qualifications applicable to the specific position and client assignment

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction activities for compliance with contract documents, plans, standards, and specifications
• Perform required field tests and collect material samples for laboratory testing
• Prepare daily diaries and reports documenting contractor activities, project progress, and inspection findings
• Maintain field books, density logs, material reports, quantity records, and pay documentation
• Measure and verify construction dimensions, alignment, elevations, and quantities
• Perform construction calculations and prepare supporting documentation for progress payments and final estimates
• Enter, review, and maintain project reports and data using computers, tablets, and applicable reporting systems
• Communicate clearly with project personnel and report deficiencies or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
• Exercise initiative and independent judgment in solving work problems, appropriate to your position level
• Follow DRMP and applicable client safety requirements
• Perform other duties appropriate to the position level and project assignment
