Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks a Transportation Technician II for field inspection and material testing on transportation projects in North Carolina. You will verify conformance to plans and specifications, measure quantities, and maintain record documents in a dynamic field environment.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Survey Technology, an active driver's license, and experience interpreting highway plans.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related field.
• Two years of progressive technician level experience or equivalent education.
• Active driver’s license.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans.
• NCDOT certifications including Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Conventional Density Testing preferred.
• 4+ years of construction inspection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor operations on transportation projects to verify conformance to plans and specs.
• Perform routine material testing.
• Measure and track quantities of pay items.
• Maintain and gather record documents including material certifications and testing reports.
