Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a Transportation Technician I to perform inspection and material testing on transportation projects in North Carolina. This role involves verifying conformance to plans and specifications, recording test results, and supporting field activities across multiple NC locations.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related curriculum may be substituted with two years CEI experience.
• NCDOT certifications preferred (Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, Conventional Density Testing).

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor operations on transportation projects to verify conformance to plans and specs.
• Perform routine material testing.
• Gather and maintain record documents including material certifications and testing reports.
