Job summary

RMS Energy seeks a Transformer Technician I to assist with transformer assembly, oil processing, and on-site service for critical energy infrastructure across the United States. You will help install, maintain, and repair transformers from various OEMs at power plants, substations, and industrial facilities.

In this hands-on role, you will work in a safety-first team, travel up to 80% across the continental U.S., and contribute to project opportunities for the sales team.

Qualifications

• Up to one year of transformer oil processing, service, or assembly.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and online platforms.
• Clear and professional communication; ability to follow instructions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assemble transformer components such as radiators, bushings, and conservators.
• Perform degassing, pressure, and vacuum testing using dehydrator units.
• Re-gasket units and fabricate gaskets or O-rings as needed.
• Assist with teardown and preparation of transformers for transport or disposal.
• Identify and resolve basic wiring and mechanical issues.
• Complete tasks and daily work orders accurately and on schedule.
• Inspect and operate tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment safely.
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements when working near hazards.
• Support the sales team by reporting project opportunities and potential customer leads.
