Job summary

RMS Energy seeks a Transformer Technician II to join our field team, assisting with transformer assembly, oil processing, and on-site service at power plants, substations, and industrial facilities. The role emphasizes safety, hands-on work, and collaboration within a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in transformer oil processing, service, or assembly, solid communication, and willingness to travel across the continental U.S.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Clear and professional communication; ability to follow instructions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assemble transformer components such as radiators, bushings, and conservators.
• Perform degassing, pressure, and vacuum testing using dehydrator units.
• Re-gasket units and fabricate gaskets or O-rings when needed.
• Assist with teardown and preparation of transformers for transport or disposal.
• Identify and resolve basic wiring and mechanical issues.
• Complete assigned tasks and daily work orders accurately and on schedule.
• Inspect and operate tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment safely.
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements when working near noise, electrical hazards, and at elevated heights.
• Support the sales team by reporting project opportunities and potential customer leads.
