Job summary
GTS Transportation is seeking an experienced Mobile Trailer Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair trailers at customer and company locations. This field-based, independent contractor role requires hands-on technicians who work well independently and ensure equipment is safe and road-ready.
Responsibilities include field travel, inspections, PM, on-site repairs, and DOT inspections. Strong diagnostic skills, a valid driver’s license, and 2+ years of trailer repair experience are required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of trailer repair experience (Required)
- Valid driver's license (Required)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift equipment and work in various weather conditions
Responsibilities
- Travel between customer and company locations to service trailers on-site
- Perform trailer inspections and assess equipment condition
- Complete preventive maintenance on-site
- Diagnose and perform minor trailer repairs in the field
- Perform and issue Annual FHWA/DOT inspections
- Identify safety and maintenance issues and recommend repairs
- Complete inspection reports and service documentation accurately
