Job summary

Service Tire Truck Center, Inc. is seeking a dependable Mobile Trailer Mechanic to perform on-site inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on commercial trailers.

You will work independently in the field, provide excellent customer service, and must have your own tools. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, brake and suspension repairs, welding, door and roof repairs, air systems, and keeping accurate service records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of trailer repair experience (mobile service preferred).
• Strong knowledge of commercial trailer systems and DOT inspection requirements.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, brake, air, and suspension systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on commercial trailers.
• Diagnose and repair trailer brake systems, suspension, wheel seals, bearings, hubs, and axles.
• Repair or replace lights, wiring, electrical systems, and ABS components.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs as needed.
• Repair trailer doors, roofs, floors, landing gear, lift gates, and roll‑up doors.
• Service air systems, tires, wheels, and other trailer components.
• Complete emergency roadside repairs and scheduled mobile service calls.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders.
• Operate and maintain a fully equipped mobile service truck.
• Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety regulations.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair recommendations and completed work.
