Job summary

ViaPath is seeking a Telecommunications Site Technician to join our Field Services team in Allentown, PA. You will deliver remedial repair, preventive maintenance, and reliability services on-site at customer facilities, largely working independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities include handling telephony hardware, network cabling, kiosk service, and basic troubleshooting, with frequent travel to customer sites within the territory and potential overnight trips.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Proficient in Windows OS, MS Office, and other software as needed.
• Proficient with telephony and networking including copper, CAT5/6, and fiber optic wiring.
• Must be able to travel to customer sites daily and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a positive ambassador for ViaPath and demonstrate service excellence.
• Provide service of ViaPath products at assigned customer sites.
• Prioritize and plan service calls.
• Communicate updates on service calls and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Interact professionally with customers to foster positive relationships.
• Act as the point of contact for facility staff on customer accounts.
• Replace telephony hardware and network components; perform basic maintenance.
• Pull cables, mount network devices, install telephony hardware.
• Administer kiosk service and collections; clear jams and deposit monies as needed.
• Troubleshoot to define problems, collect data, and support corrective actions.
• Handle wiring troubleshooting and repairs on 66-Blocks or Cutoff Switches.
• Assist with special projects and possible overtime/callouts.
• Troubleshoot video visitation issues with support guidance.
• Return damaged equipment per RMAs.
