Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Customer Service Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed networks and related wiring and equipment in Destin and Freeport. You’ll support outside plant facilities and assist the sales team with customer-facing activities.

The role requires safety awareness, a valid driver’s license, and boot-camp training in DSL/POTS installation. Expect a hands-on environment with on-call shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to distinguish colors on facilities.
• Must be able to climb 28 ft extension ladders and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Completion of service tech boot camp training, POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, basic transmissions, and HSI installations.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet networks and related wiring/equipment.
• Climb poles, dig and bury cable; locate buried telephone cables.
• Observe safety rules; assist other techs as needed.
• Present a professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company.
• Support sales and marketing activities; assist with customer-facing tasks and referrals.
• Be accountable and dependable; respond to on-call duties as needed.
• Demonstrate teamwork and efficient use of resources to meet service targets.
• Practice active listening; ask relevant questions to resolve issues.
