Job summary

Lumen Technologies in Palm Bay, FL is seeking a Field Technician III to perform installation, maintenance, and testing of transport, data, and customer premise equipment across multiple network layers. The role requires independent work, problem solving, and occasional leadership on projects.

You will handle outside plant activities, fiber-related tasks, and ongoing preventive maintenance, with an emphasis on performance, security, and reliability for enterprise and government customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Technician experience in a telecommunications/data center environment.
• Master knowledge of standard telecommunication practices and technologies including Transmission, Switching and TCP/IP.
• Strong technical and mechanical background with experience of transport gear and critical infrastructure.
• Able to work outdoors and in challenging conditions with safety as priority.
• Valid state vehicle operator's license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment and restores service.
• Installs and tests transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers.
• Locates and protects underground facilities and coordinates with vendors.
• Performs preventive maintenance on network infrastructure and HVAC/DC power systems.
