Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a Field Communications Technician in Osseo, MN, to install, repair and test residential and small business telecom services including POTS, HSI, Networking, VDSL and Fiber to the Home. The role covers wiring, device configuration and basic troubleshooting in a customer-facing environment.

Applicants should have field experience or related telecom/electrical skills, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility for overtime, weekends, and occasional out-of-town

Qualifications

• Field telecom installation/repair experience.
• Basic telecom, electrical, low voltage or HVAC skills.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain/repair and test residential/small business services (POTS, HSI, Networking, VDSL, Fiber to the Home).
• Enable the wireless/wired network on modems/routers and connect cables to hardware.
• Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems or issues.
• Perform continuity and/or conformance testing with test equipment.
• Read customer service orders, drawings, maps, and diagrams to perform work.
• Interact with customers professionally and discuss service requirements.
• Confirm/update trouble and services, review billing, explain features.
• Identify opportunities for additional revenue.
