Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a hands-on Installation Technician to join our field operations team in Florida. You will perform customer installations, network activations, and on-site repairs, while delivering reliable service and a positive customer experience in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires troubleshooting skills across telecom and IT, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience troubleshooting technical, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, or IT-related issues.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve customer issues.
• Ability to work independently while effectively managing time and priorities in a field-based environment.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions while performing field-based responsibilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and professionalism.
• Ability to work a Monday through Friday schedule with occasional overtime and after-hours support.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company-provided vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer installations, network installations, repairs, and service activations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical service issues using established procedures and tools.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure network reliability and performance.
• Diagnose and elevate complex technical issues as needed.
• Deliver a positive customer experience through professional communication and service interactions.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, service activities, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Collaborate with team members and support continuous operational improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations after completion of training and support occasional after-hours work when required.
