Job summary

Uniti is seeking a Construction Technician-Line Worker to install, repair, and maintain poles and aerial and underground telecom cables. The role involves climbing poles, operating bucket trucks, and performing splicing and testing tasks across job sites, with substantial travel and overtime expectations.

The position requires 1 year of outside plant experience, a pole-climbing certification, and the ability to lift heavy loads, work in all weather, and obtain a CDL if needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of outside plant construction experience including installation, repair and maintenance of poles and buried or aerial cable.
• Pole climbing certification.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain CDL.
• Ability to pass DOT certification.
• Ability to travel.
• On-call schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain poles.
• Install aerial cables and set up service for customers.
• Measure signal strength at utility poles using test equipment.
• Inspect or test lines or cables and locate faults.
• Access areas to string lines or install terminal boxes and equipment.
• Splice copper and fiber cables and related tasks.
