Job summary

McKinstry, based in Portland, OR, is seeking a Field Technologist for its New Construction team. The role will train, coach, troubleshoot, and support the implementation of new and existing applications and business systems for on-site project teams.

The ideal candidate will manage technology projects, maintain enterprise systems, and deliver in-person and virtual training. Strong communication and a background in construction are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must have proficiency in managing technology projects, new development and/or support of critical enterprise systems.
• Bachelor’s degree/AA in Information Technology, Program Management, Business Management, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Bluebeam, SharePoint, Power BI, CxAlloy, and Autodesk products.
• Knowledge of new technologies and their implementation in construction.
• A desire to learn and understand new technologies and software.
• Background in construction is preferred to create relevant training material for craft workers.
• Experience with iOS, Android, and Windows operating systems.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, OneDrive, Visio, and Outlook; Excel is a plus.
• Experience in providing comprehensive training and support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to log issues and track trends.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to McKinstry craft worker infrastructure.
• Establish metrics and measure ROI for field technologies; identify costs, benefits and impact.
• Manage craft-facing SharePoint sites.
• Facilitate creation, maintenance and troubleshooting of PDF documents and dashboards.
• Stay informed of new technologies and educate team members.
• Serve as SME on current and emerging solutions affecting craft workers.
• Develop and collaborate on trainings for in-person and virtual delivery.
• Participate in cross-functional committees and teams.
• Develop relationships with peers in other departments.
• Act as a business/technology consultant to introduce changes that improve nimbleness and profitability.
• Communicate project vision and strategies to the team and other departments.
