Job summary

Lumen Technologies in Casper, WY is hiring a Field Technician II to maintain and restore network services across assigned territories. You will start your day in a company‑provided vehicle and travel to multiple sites, building technical expertise while supporting the reliability of our telecommunications infrastructure.

This role offers exposure to OTDR testing, fiber optic networks, and hands‑on field work in varying weather.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant telecommunications, network infrastructure, or field technical experience.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing network equipment.
Knowledge of fiber optic networks.
Experience performing OTDR testing and network diagnostics.
Ability to work independently across multiple field locations.
Must be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across territories.

Responsibilities

Respond to network outages and service restoration activities to maintain service availability.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications and network infrastructure equipment.
Perform OTDR and other network testing activities to identify and resolve service issues.
Conduct preventive maintenance on network facilities and supporting infrastructure.
Provide smart hands support at remote network sites.
Maintain site equipment, including HVAC systems and generators.
