Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Field Technician II in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on installation, decommissioning, and troubleshooting of network equipment, including fiber, transport gear, and CPE delivery for end-user services.

You will work under minimal supervision, handling field provisioning and testing across Next Generation technologies. The position requires 2+ years in telecom installation and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years installing and turning up telecom equipment (SONET, DCS, DWDM, routers, switches).
• Experience with transport gear and critical infrastructure (HVAC, DC power, electrical systems).
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment and replaces defective parts to restore service.
• Installs, changes, decommissions and tests NG technologies (Edge Compute, Wavelength, Ethernet, IP).
• Performs DC power installs and asset management on site.
• Maintains tools, test sets and inventory; coordinates shipping of materials.
• Supports 24x7 on-call duties as required by business needs.
• Ensures site security and cleanliness.
