Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician II to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects in diverse field environments.

You will perform advanced field and lab testing, on-site inspections, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of working independently, outdoors, and with a potential to mentor junior technicians while maintaining a strong safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing or related.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and FDC software.
• Read, write, and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail; able to work independently.
• Flexibility for early morning, weekend, or overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials.
• Ensure testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications and policies.
• Collect, label, and transport material samples to laboratories.
• Maintain testing equipment per manufacturer and company guidelines.
• Complete detailed reports and documentation of test results.
• Communicate status and issues with dispatch, field supervisors, and project managers.
• May mentor junior field technicians and share best practices.
• Follow OSHA, company, and client safety protocols (PPE).
• Adapt to changing project requirements and schedules, including overtime.
• Operate and maintain assigned company vehicle and travel to sites.
