Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Field Technician II to support data centers and POPs, coordinating with network teams and local vendors for installation, repair and maintenance. The role requires deep knowledge of rack-and-stack deployments and travel to assigned sites.

You will perform site surveys, audits and testing, work with telecom equipment (DWDM, routers, switches), and help ensure high quality standards across locations while maintaining compliance with MOPs and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent and 2–5 years' related experience.
• Deep knowledge of data center and POP infrastructure, including cabling and power systems.
• Experience with telecom equipment: DWDMs, routers, and switches.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality standards at data centers and POPs.
• Perform physical installation, repair, maintenance, and testing with meticulous accuracy.
• Assist with card adds or replacements and software upgrades.
• Suggest improvements to processes affecting network assets.
• Provide site surveys for OSP/ISP projects and large equipment deployments.
• Conduct site audits and reconcile data with Network Surveillance.
• Coordinate with local vendors and LECs for installation and maintenance.
• Coordinate site access and equipment staging.
• Support site surveys for network builds, augments, decommissions.
• Other duties as required.
