Job summary

Astreya in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Field Technician II to support data centers and POPs, performing installation, repair, and maintenance of telecom gear, coordinating with network teams and local vendors while traveling as needed.

Candidates will deploy rack and stack configurations, test systems, and contribute to process improvements; the role requires independent problem solving, attention to quality, and working with LEC/ISP partners to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and 2 to 5 years’ related experience
• Experience with data center/POP infrastructure and related telecom environments
• Ability to work with LECs, vendors and cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with telecom testing equipment (OTDRs, meters) and fiber/copper distribution

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality standards at data center locations and POPs
• Perform physical installation, repair, maintenance and testing activities
• Assist in card adds or replacements and software upgrades
• Coordinate with vendors and utility providers for site access and installations
• Conduct site surveys and audits, reconcile data discrepancies
• Work with LECs and technicians to ensure timely installations and maintenance
