Lumen is hiring a Field Technician I to support network operations and deliver exceptional service to customers across the assigned coverage area. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience with network infrastructure and customer installations, building a long-term career in telecommunications and AI-ready connectivity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and ability to travel within the assigned service area.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to learn technical concepts and apply training in a field environment.
• Comfortable working independently after completing training; collaborative in a team.
• Experience with cable, telecommunications, or field service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support network builds, installations, and maintenance in assigned areas.
• Perform customer-premise equipment installations, activation, and testing.
• Assist with cable installation, troubleshooting, and circuit turn-up activities.
• Conduct site inspections and support battery maintenance programs.
• Coordinate vendor and site access requirements as needed.
• Respond to operational needs and travel between customer and network locations.
• Maintain documentation and follow safety and operational procedures.
• Participate in training and future on-call rotations after onboarding.
