Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician I to join our team, performing on-site inspections, materials testing, and environmental sampling to ensure projects meet industry standards. The ideal candidate thrives outdoors, is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of traveling to multiple job sites.

Responsibilities include conducting field and lab tests, collecting samples, maintaining equipment, and preparing detailed reports while adhering to OSHA safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework is a plus.
• 0-3 years field-based outdoor experience preferred; construction/materials testing/geotechnical exposure is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; ability to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and lab testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates to verify compliance with specs and standards.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories for testing and analysis.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration and safety guidelines are followed.
• Document test results, logs, and prepare reports for project managers.
• Communicate updates to dispatch, field supervisors, and project managers in real time.
• Adhere to project timelines and safety protocols, including PPE usage.
• Perform travel to job sites up to 70% as required.
• Participate in training and obtain certifications as required.
