Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing and inspection projects. The role involves on-site inspections, sampling, and testing to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in construction, engineering, geology, or related field is a plus.
• 0-3 years of field-based outdoor or physically demanding work preferred (construction, materials testing, geotechnical, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing or ability to obtain within a specified period.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials.
• Collect, label, and transport samples from job sites to laboratories.
• Prepare detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration per guidelines.
• Communicate with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors, and project managers in real time.
