UES, Inc. is hiring a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspections across construction projects.

You will perform on-site inspections, collect samples, and conduct lab testing to ensure compliance with project specs and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes hands-on field work, safety consciousness, and the opportunity to gain practical experience while collaborating with senior staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training/related coursework a plus.
• 0-3 years of field-based, outdoor, or physically demanding work experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing or ability to obtain within time.
• Commitment to workplace safety and OSHA standards; PPE usage.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar tools.
• Mathematical skills to perform unit conversions and basic calculations.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; flexible with schedules and travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
• Properly collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories for testing and analysis.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration and proper operation.
• Complete detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results; submit timely to project managers.
• Communicate with dispatch, field supervisors, and project managers; provide real-time updates.
• Travel up to 70% as required by project needs; adapt to varying schedules and conditions.
• Participate in training and certification programs to maintain proficiency and compliance.
• Work safely per OSHA guidelines and company PPE requirements.
