Job summary

SITECH Western States is seeking a field service technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar heavy equipment at customer sites and in the shop. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, the ability to interpret results, and independent decision-making for repairs.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience, own necessary tools, and a valid CDL with air brake; DOT compliance and English communication are required. Travel, overtime, and safety compliance are expected.

Qualifications

• Must own required tools.
• Must have a current CDL with air brake experience and acceptable driving record.
• Must meet DOT requirements.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment in field, shop, or customer sites.
• Interpret test results and decide extent of repair independently.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Technical Communicators as needed.
• Maintain professional conduct and safety on site; report results daily.
• Submit service reports and time entries via laptop and email.
• Communicate repair status and plans to customers during service.
