Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and independence, with opportunities to troubleshoot and support more complex field activities while working with engineers and senior techs.

Qualifications include an electrical/electronic tech degree or military experience, 2–4 years in the industry, and a NETA II certification. Willingness to travel and work overtime is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Associates degree in Electrical/Electronic tech or military experience preferred.
• 2-4 years of relevant industry experience.
• NETA II Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and PPE in substation environments.
• Perform testing of high, medium, and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect, test, and maintain breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, battery systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot issues via schematics and manuals; escalate as needed.
• Document testing and maintenance per project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely.
