Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment. The role emphasizes safety, independence, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced North American environment.

Ideal candidates have an electrical/electronic technology background, NETA II certification, and 2–4 years of relevant experience, with willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen due to safety sensitivity.
• Criminal background check must be satisfactory.
• Overtime work and out-of-town travel may be required.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and PPE use in substation environments.
• Participate in safety trainings, meetings, and job briefings; identify hazards.
• Support safety culture through hazard reporting and lessons learned.
• Test high, medium, and low voltage equipment with minimal supervision.
• Inspect, test, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, battery systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot using schematics and manuals; escalate complex issues.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance; repair and adjust components.
• Assist commissioning activities and verify equipment readiness for service.
• Document testing, maintenance, and repair work per requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas for readiness and compliance.
