Job summary

Electric Power Systems is hiring a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation electrical equipment with increasing independence. You will troubleshoot issues, document results, and support commissioning activities to verify readiness for service.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening for a safety-sensitive role.
• Background check required to evaluate candidate suitability.
• Overtime and out-of-town travel may be necessary.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements in substation work environments.
• Participate in safety trainings, meetings and job briefings; help mitigate hazards.
• Support safety culture through hazard reporting and lessons learned.
• Test high, medium and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, batteries, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot using schematics and manuals; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance of electrical components.
• Assist commissioning activities to verify equipment readiness for service.
• Document testing, maintenance and repair work per project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field tasks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to standards.
