Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a qualified Survey Instrument person to operate and maintain survey equipment for pipeline and field surveys. You will support the Survey Party Chief and ensure data accuracy, safety, and adherence to project requirements.

The role requires two years of surveying experience, GPS knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. ACSM certificate is preferred; pre-employment and random drug tests apply. This is an on-site field position with potential travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• GPS knowledge preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum two years surveying experience including Instrumentman work.
• Knowledge of electronic data collection methods for cross-country pipeline surveying.
• Knowledge of survey instrumentation operating procedures and data collection techniques.
• ACSM Survey Technician Certificate preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain survey instrumentation for low-tech activities.
• Assist Survey Party Chief in implementing project survey policies and procedures.
• Orient and assign tasks to survey personnel.
• Monitor survey personnel performance and documentation for quality and schedule adherence.
• Provide guidance and supervision to survey personnel for safety and quality.
