Job summary
OBR Cooling Towers is seeking a Startup and Commissioning Specialist to plan, execute, and document commissioning for new or upgraded industrial equipment. You will travel to customer sites across data centers, refineries, power plants, and mills to perform start-ups, data collection, troubleshooting, and inspections.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on field experience, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
- Requires strong technical knowledge of electrical, control, and mechanical issues in industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with vibration analysis and mechanical maintenance best practices.
- Experience with control systems, including VFDs and PLCs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient in reporting tools.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and perform startup activities for new or upgraded equipment.
- Perform baseline vibration data collection during cooling tower start-ups.
- Collaborate with controls and automation team for system integration.
- Maintain detailed commissioning documentation: test results, punch lists, turnover packages.
- Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
