Job summary

OBR Cooling Towers seeks a Startup and Vibration Technician to lead on-site startup and commissioning for new or upgraded industrial equipment. You will collect data, troubleshoot, and adjust cooling towers at customer sites such as data centers and refineries, traveling up to 100% of the time.

The role requires strong hands-on experience, proactive problem solving, and collaboration with controls teams to ensure successful project turnover and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in startup and vibration.
• Strong technical knowledge in electrical, control, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform startup activities for new or upgraded equipment.
• Perform baseline vibration data collection during cooling tower start-ups.
• Collaborate with controls/automation teams to integrate vibration monitoring.
• Identify and resolve issues during startup and commissioning.
• Maintain commissioning documentation and turnover packages.
• Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
• Support continuous improvement of commissioning processes.
• Configure and troubleshoot vibration sensors and accelerometers.
• Inspect cooling tower components and verify installation quality.
• Enter confined spaces and collect data for technical reports.
• Adhere to safety policies and submit expense reports.
