Job summary

OBR Cooling Towers is seeking a Startup and Commissioning Specialist to plan, execute, and document commissioning activities for new or upgraded industrial equipment across multiple sites. You will travel to customer locations—data centers, refineries, power plants, steel mills, and more—to perform start-ups, data collection, troubleshooting, and inspections.

The role requires hands-on engineering expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences or related field.
• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on field experience diagnosing industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with VFDs, PLCs and automation tools.
• Proficient with reporting tools; Word/Excel/Project.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and perform startup activities for new or upgraded equipment.
• Perform VFD setup and programming to lock out undesirable frequencies.
• Collect baseline vibration data during start-ups.
• Integrate vibration monitoring with control systems.
• Prepare commissioning documentation and technical reports.
• Provide training and support to operations and maintenance teams.
