Job summary

OBR is seeking a Startup and Commissioning Specialist to lead planning, execution and documentation of commissioning for new or upgraded industrial equipment across customer sites. You will ensure proper installation, thorough testing and a smooth transition from construction to operations, with extensive on-site data collection, troubleshooting and training of operations teams.

The role requires strong technical knowledge in vibration analysis, control systems, VFDs and PLCs, plus a hands-on,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong technical knowledge and hands-on field experience diagnosing electrical, control, and mechanical issues with industrial equipment.
Familiarity with vibration analysis and mechanical maintenance best practices.
Familiarity with control systems, including VFDs, PLCs and related automation tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with reporting tools.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and perform startup activities for new or upgraded equipment, ensuring proper integration and calibration.
Perform baseline vibration data collection during cooling tower start-ups.
Collaborate with controls and automation teams to integrate vibration monitoring with control systems.
Identify and resolve technical issues during startup and commissioning phases.
Maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test results and turnover packages.
Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot vibration sensors and diagnostic tools.
