Job summary

OBR Cooling Towers seeks a Startup and Commissioning Specialist to plan, execute, and document commissioning for new or upgraded industrial equipment at customer sites nationwide. You will travel about 80% of the time, perform data collection, vibration testing, and work with controls teams to ensure proper integration of sensors and automation for reliable startup and operation.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in engineering with hands-on experience in electrical, control, and mechanical

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences or a related field.
Hands-on field experience diagnosing, analyzing, and mitigating electrical, control, and mechanical issues with industrial equipment.
Familiarity with control systems including VFDs and PLCs.
Strong written and verbal communication; proficient in reporting tools.
Willingness to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and perform startup activities for new or upgraded equipment.
Perform baseline vibration data collection during cooling tower start-ups.
Collaborate with controls and automation teams for sensor and control integration.
Identify and resolve technical issues during startup and commissioning.
Maintain detailed commissioning documentation and turnover packages.
Provide training and support to operations and maintenance teams.
Configure and troubleshoot vibration sensors and related diagnostic tools.
Conduct cooling tower inspections and verify installation quality.
