Field Service Technician / Field Service Engineer

Traveling Field Service Technician / Engineer

50-75% Travel | Industrial Machinery | Customer-Facing Role

Are you a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, solving customer challenges, and traveling to a variety of manufacturing environments? We are seeking a Field Service Technician / Engineer to support customers through equipment installations, troubleshooting, repairs, training, and preventative maintenance activities.

In this role, you will serve as the face of the company at customer sites, delivering exceptional technical support while ensuring equipment operates at peak performance. The ideal candidate is mechanically and electrically inclined, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, start up, commission, and test industrial machinery at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues on customer equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair services to maximize equipment performance and uptime.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support during and after warranty periods.
  • Coordinate and perform customer training on equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and assist with prototype/sample part production when required.
  • Communicate professionally with customers to provide updates, recommendations, and solutions.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and other required records accurately and timely.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the assigned territory and support emergency service needs when necessary.
Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in a mechanical, electrical, or related technical field OR 4 years of military technical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial machinery in a field service or maintenance environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50-75% following training.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard business software.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred

  • Prior experience installing and commissioning capital equipment or industrial machinery.
  • Conversational Spanish skills.
  • Experience training customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
