Reporting Line

This position reports to: Regional Service Manager - South

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. Demand Field Service Technicians perform services according to ABB standards, quality, and safety guidelines. You will cooperate closely with customers and ABB teams, acting as the technical point of contact while delivering quality service.

As a Demand Field Service Technician Trainee in Greater Houston, TX, or Lake Charles to Baton Rouge, LA, you will work both independently and as part of a team, based on customer and contract requirements. The work model is remote.

This role contributes to the Process Automation, Energy Industries Division. Your main accountabilities include:

  1. Performing entry-level field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and conducting analysis through remote or on-site activities.
  2. Preparing material lists needed for service activities and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
  3. Executing work with a first-time right approach, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  4. Troubleshooting simple equipment failures and providing recommendations to prevent future issues.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree preferred; high-school diploma and military technical training considered.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Willing to maintain overnight travel up to 80%.
  • Must have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
