Our Machinery and Equipment Specialties department seeks a field engineer to provide machinery and equipment boiler inspections. This position is in our Wausau, WIT territory and can be filled by a trainee or experienced field engineer.

Positions serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio are fully remote.

Compensation

Starting Pay: The pay range for this position is $63,000 - $105,000 annually. The pay determination is based on education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on performance.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain territory's jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspections
• Manage the territory effectively and efficiently
• Educate agents on marketing machinery and equipment to clients
• Serve as a professional resource to insurance agents
• Provide high-level claims service to local independent insurance agents

Required skills and qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Professionalism under stressful situations
• Ability to work independently
• Effective collaboration with different departments
• Ability to prepare meaningful reports

Additional qualifications for trainees:

• Engineering or technically-based bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel within the territory
• Valid driver’s license

Additional qualifications for experienced engineers:

• Machinery and equipment experience in insurance (preferred)
• Knowledge of machinery, regulations, and standards (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree or related experience
• National board commission or ability to obtain it
• Consultative and presentation skills
• Commitment to continuing education
• Valid driver’s license
